So, the story goes, there is a sandwich place in West Los Angeles that goes by the name East-West Sandwich. they specialize, and you are right, in fusion sandwiches. and so they have Japanwich, Chinawich, Koreawich and INDIAWICH!
And this is one extremely popular place, popular among all sorts of people.

Now, if anyone can answer the following questions for me "whats Madras Curry powder" and even if we assume that it refers to some spice mix with Southern Indian Spices that flavor our beloved Sambar, rasam, palyas and kootus, i certainly am left wondering, if yellow curry is an Indian dish i know of.....Go figure, this is your Thanksgiving homework :)).

when i was growing up my mom always made sandwiches with sabzi. they were good, but way too spicy and in need of some raita on the side. :)
oh yeah, and neither Chicken yellow curry nor yellow curry salmon sound remotely indian to me.

Madras Curry isn't Indian, or at least it doesn't taste Indian :) I found it at a grocery store here and got *so* excited and went home and put heaps of it in my Dal. Yeah, very very bad idea :)I think it might be a carribbean version of garam masala?
That sounds adventurous, Sleepy. Your description of what this curry powder might be sounds quite true. In certain stores i have seen something by the name "Ceylon Curry Powder"-may be they are close cousins.
